Abstract
De récentes actualités sur le marché de l’art précolombien en France ont mis en évidence les nombreux problèmes liés au commerce de l’art précolombien : pillages de sites, trafics illicites, inflation des prix, fabrication de copies de pièces… Les réclamations des pays d’origine pour la restitution des collections archéologiques, comme les contestations des ventes par les communautés amérindiennes fondées sur la nature sacrée de certains objets sont la source de nouveaux débats diplomatiques et éthiques.La lutte engagée par les pays latino-américains pour contrer ce commerce et protéger leur patrimoine, le rôle des musées et des institutions internationales mais aussi la plus grande vigilance des acteurs du marché de l’art montrent une évolution qui peut, à terme, assainir un marché de l’art amérindien en plein questionnement.
