Abstract
Businesses use signals to communicate among themselves. Rich in informative content, these signals are key to competing successfully in that they provide useful information to develop answers. This paper looks into the processes by which market signals are generated, received and interpreted. An enterprise sending out a signal may choose from a wide array of options, depending on its strategic goals, and the company on the receiving end must interpret that signal through a complex process that must not only address the peculiarities of the signal itself, but those of the interacting companies.
