Abstract
Este contributo inscreve-se na intencao de proceder a avaliacao da extensao e dinâmica do fenomeno em debate (e ao qual preferencialmente denominariamos de processo de pauperizacao). Na base de um dado perfil de carencia, indiciaremos elementos orientadores de um «novo» posicionamento institucional; agtadecendo a divindade «crise» a oportunidade de tornar urgente uma reflexao sobre este problema. No desempenho das competencias que legalmente lhes estao acometidas, os Centros Regionais de Seguranca Social sao detentores de um consideravel manancial de elementos sobre o tecido social em geral e tambem, com alguma particularidade, sobre determinadas ocorrencias sociais: quer quanto aos problemas expressos, como quanto as respostas disponiveis. Por a render a informacao de que se dispoe e, do nosso ponto de vista, nao so uma exigencia, como uma condicao do desempenho dessas competencias.
