Abstract

Cet article présente une analyse interactionniste du profilage social vécu par les personnes en situation d’itinérance. Les données sont issues d’une recherche communautaire en cours portant sur le profilage social à Gatineau, au Québec. Les données ont été recueillies auprès d’actrices et d’acteurs professionnels du milieu, notamment des intervenantes et intervenants et des gestionnaires d’organismes communautaires. Elles seront analysées à la lumière de la théorie de l’étiquetage de Becker (1985). En déterminant le contexte, les agentes et agents profileurs et les facteurs sous-jacents, il sera possible de cerner comment le processus d’étiquetage se manifeste dans le profilage social des personnes itinérantes.
