Abstract
Le paysage de la bande dessinée francophone s'est profondément transformé depuis les années 1990. Dans le même temps, la focale portée sur le religieux s'est également modifiée dans le contexte des sociétés française, belge et québécoise, traversées à la fois par un phénomène de « retour du religieux » et de détachement des institutions religieuses. Acteur et sujet de la bande dessinée tout au long du XXe siècle, le catholicisme fait-il l'objet d'un traitement particulier du 9e art au cours des deux dernières décennies ? Analyser la BD francophone à ce prisme signale les déplacements d'une religion catholique dans des sociétés désormais sorties de la « civilisation paroissiale » et acquises à la modernité, en situation d'exculturation.
