Abstract
Nous voulons dans cet article interroger la signification de l’expression communication organisationnelle. Si les nombreux travaux déjà menés témoignent de sa validité et de sa légitimation progressive dans le champ académique, quels usages peut-on identifier de cette expression dans le champ professionnel ? De quelles pratiques cette dénomination rend-elle compte alors ? À quelle identité professionnelle renvoie-t-elle et comment peut-on la caractériser ? Nous nous appuyons pour y répondre sur un corpus d’entretiens semi-directifs menés ces trois dernières années avec des responsables de communication français et québécois. Mobilisant une méthode d’analyse double, sociologique et discursive, dans la mesure où nous empruntons à la fois à la sociologie (des organisations, des professions, du travail) et à l’analyse de discours, nous cherchons à définir l’identité de l’acteur de la communication organisationnelle en termes de construction d’une identité professionnelle et langagière.
