Cet article se propose d’analyser la manière dont la disparition de quarante-trois étudiants de l’École Normale rurale d’Ayotzinapa est devenue une affaire . Autrement dit, il s’agit de s’interroger sur la manière dont des revendications locales ont pu émerger et monter en généralité pour accéder à la sphère publique, comme celles des mobilisations collectives au Mexique et ailleurs. Nous essayerons de répondre en observant l’événement durant les jours qui ont suivi cette disparition. Deux sources principales sont consultées : les comptes rendus judicaires et les récits des victimes. L’analyse des descriptions et catégorisations élaborées par les personnes et institutions concernées s’avère donc nécessaire pour avoir accès aux différentes compréhensions internes à cette affaire.
