Abstract
La monoparentalité n’est pas un phénomène nouveau, comme en témoigne l’histoire des pays occidentaux. Au Québec, la « nouvelle » monoparentalité ne bouscule « l’ancienne » que vers la fin des années 60. L’article indique les principaux repères de l’évolution socio-historique de la monoparentalité depuis 25 ans au Québec. Et, à l’aide de certains éléments de prospective empruntés à la société américaine, il cherche à poser quelques jalons concernant l’avenir de cette forme familiale.
