Abstract

The fourteen papers in this special section focus on advancements in the simulation of electromagnetic and transients (EMTs). EMTs have been the backbone for design, operation, and analysis of power systems through the last decades. The simulation of EMTs remains an important research topic and becomes even more important in the context of modern and increasingly complex power systems. The papers in this section aim to describe original and novel research that overcomes challenges incurred by the simulation of new technologies involved in actual power networks.
