Abstract
The article deals with foreign approaches, methods, and especially to assess the socio-economic responses to re-gional policy of the state, including on social and economic policies. The most detailed coverage of the assessment conducted by the state policy in the EU and in the US and Canada. A classification of methods for estimation of the state program of economic assistance to the regions used abroad. The urgency and the need to assess the impact of the implementation of federal programs in the Russian Federation on the regional economy and the development of adequate methods of detail of this assessment. The technology of assessing the socio-economic responses to the region´s economy held by the Federal Centre for Economic Policy, the problems arising in the course of this work, and possible solutions.
