Abstract

The article for the first time considers the features of reforming Nizhny Novgorod service corporation in the last quarter of the XVII century. The complex of archival sources on this subject is introduced into scientific circulation, basing on them the process of the transition of provincial nobility from centurion service to service in the regiments of the new system is studied. The author comes to the conclusion about the existed interaction of the forms and traditions of centurion service and the principles of the new system regiments formation.
