Abstract
Arsenic (As) is a known carcinogen and a long standing problem in purifying water from consumption. High As concentrations have been reported in numerous countries like USA, China, Chile, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Mexico, Argentina, Poland, Canada, Hungary, Japan and India. This report explores the feasibility of impregnating iron in granular activated carbon (GAC) via freeze drying and the effectiveness of said adsorbent (GAC-Fe FD) to remove dissolved As in water. This was done through batch studies.
