Abstract
En mai 2003, les États-Unis, le Canada et l’Argentine – les trois plus grands producteurs d’OGM de l’époque – demandaient l’ouverture de consultations avec les Communautés européennes (CE) dans le cadre du mécanisme de règlement des différends de l’OMC. Les trois États se plaignaient de mesures prises tant au niveau communautaire que par certains des États membres des CE à l’égard des produits agricoles et alimentaires issus des biotechnologies modernes. Le 29 septembre 2006, avec beaucoup de retard, le Groupe spécial distribuait un rapport de plus de mille pages. L’auteure offre un résumé sélectif critique des conclusions et recommandations de ce rapport. Plus précisément, l’auteure se concentre sur les conclusions du Groupe spécial relatives à l’Accord sur l’application des mesures sanitaires et phytosanitaires (Accord SPS).
