La recherche entre des Autochtones et des chercheurs extérieurs à leur communauté est de plus en plus conditionnée par un protocole collaboratif. Il s’appuie sur des conditions souvent très strictes de la part des autochtones et un cadre réglementaire astreignant. Comment une recherche collaborative est-elle possible dans ces conditions ? Nous tentons d’apporter quelques éléments de réponse en nous demandant ce que peut être une recherche collaborative avant de voir comment la mettre en place grâce à une expérience, celle d’une coopération avec les Lil’wat dans l’ouest du Canada. Nous nous interrogeons ensuite sur les intérêts et les limites de cet exemple.
