Abstract
Conclusiones de los autores del estudio: en los paises donde es frecuente el uso de la rehidratacion endovenosa, la administracion de ondansetron en el Servicio de Urgencias, en ninos con vomitos y deshidratacion secundarios a gastroenteritis, produce un ahorro significativo comparado con su no administracion. Comentario de los revisores: segun este estudio de evaluacion economica, bien realizado, la administracion de ondansetron en los Servicios de Urgencias a los ninos con vomitos y deshidratacion leve-moderada debidos a gastroenteritis genera un ahorro considerable, muy superior en EE. UU. que en Canada, aunque existen dudas sobre la eficacia del farmaco, ya que este estudio toma los datos de un metaanalisis con importantes limitaciones metodologicas.
