Abstract
Among its contributions, the 1967 Universal and International Exhibition, also known as the Montreal World's Fair and as Expo 67, promised to advance its cultural mission with avantgarde architecture. This was due to a wholly unique point of conception: a radically new kind of exposition was proposed by architects, not bureaucrats, who sought to resituate the civilizing purpose of modern architecture. Central to this ambition was an embrace of theories of the megastructure.
