Abstract
En 1850, la moitie de la population d'Irlande avait l'irlandais pour premiere langue. C'est aujourd'hui une langue menacee. Au cours des dernieres decennies, l'orthographe de l'irlandais a ete simplifiee de maniere a rendre la langue plus accessible a ceux qui voulaient l'apprendre en tant que langue seconde. Malgre tout, de nombreux locuteurs de l'irlandais n'atteignent qu'un niveau rudimentaire en lecture et en ecriture, en grande partie a cause du systeme orthographique gaelique tres different de celui de l'anglais. L'A. propose une description des regles de l'orthographe irlandaise et des elements phonetiques a utiliser pour l'enseignement de ces regles
