Elle a donne lieu a la Commission de Verite et de Reconciliation canadienne (CVRC). Les Commissions de Verite et de Reconciliation visent habituellement a reconcilier et a permettre un processus de guerison nationale apres des episodes de violence a grande echelle dans un Etat donne.
