Abstract
Cet article étudie le travail d’entraide que réalisent les associations d’anciens placés par la protection de l’enfance pour briser les effets des seuils d’âge sur la transition vers l’âge adulte des jeunes sortant de placement. S’appuyant sur des entretiens auprès de jeunes et de membres plus âgés engagés dans ces associations, sur le recueil d’archives et sur des observations d’évènements, il montre qu’en œuvrant à la socialisation juridique de leurs pairs, les anciens placés tentent de garantir un meilleur accès aux droits sociaux et de pallier les insuffisances de ces derniers par la mise en œuvre d’aides complémentaires.
