Abstract
O presente artigo tem como escopo compreender a atuação da Cruz Vermelha Internacional na promoção da paz por meio da assistência humanitária e do fomento para a edificação e adoção de tratados internacionais em prol da proteção do homem em meio aos conflitos e a regulação dos métodos de guerra, a fim de tornar esse momento hostil o mais humano possível. Dentre essas armas de destruição em massa, incluem-se as bombas cluster e as minas antipessoais, tendo em vista o seu baixo custo de produção e os danos que causam aos civis das regiões afetadas. Ao cabo, através do estudo, conclui-se que ao limitar os meios e métodos na guerra, em especial esses armamentos de destruição em massa, essa tonar-se-ia mais restrita, fomentando-se a paz e atingindo-se os objetivos da Organização em apreço.
