Abstract
La topique de la prostitution hante l’œuvre d’Abdellah Taïa. Elle est ici saisie dans le premier roman de l’auteur, mais aussi poursuivie dans ses manifestations dispersées au sein des récits ultérieurs. Loin d’y faire l’objet d’un anathème, la prostitution, qui n’est pas étrangère à l’expérience subjective du narrateur, joue dans le texte le rôle à la fois multiple et ambivalent d’un révélateur de différence et de résistance sociale et sexuelle et permet aussi l’affirmation d’une liberté au moins relative, même si elle est obtenue à travers des formes d’aliénation.
