In this study, Confocal Raman imaging of two naked and dye-coated TiO2 films (one built from a commercial paste "Dyesol" and one built from an in-house aqueous synthesized anatase variety "Aqueous") is investigated in the high wavenumber region. The use of this technique allows us to further elucidate the binding mechanism of N719 dye complex onto TiO2 involving surface hydroxyl groups. TGA analysis was also conducted to quantitatively measure the OH/OH2 content of the two TiO2 films and correlate it with the Confocal Raman images.
