Abstract
Cet article est consacré à l’opérateur sériel que constitue « le monde » ou « l’univers » dans les genres de l’imaginaire spontanément cosmogoniques que sont la science-fiction et la fantasy. Après avoir distingué différentes modalités de ce qui est donné et perçu comme « monde », et en avoir dégagé les principales caractéristiques communes, l’analyse propose une archéologie des grandes étapes de leur développement sur un siècle, afin de mieux cerner les spécificités de leur remarquable inflation contemporaine.
