Les reprises sur scène de radio-théâtres de ce qu’on appelle l’âge d’or de la radio – qui correspond aux années 1930 et 1940 – prennent souvent des allures parodiques qu’on peut attribuer aux maladresses involontaires de ce type de productions radiophoniques. Cela soulève une question de fond : existe-t-il des éléments caractéristiques de cette esthétique des radio-théâtres qui soient transposables sur scène, dans des productions fondées sur la présence et le visuel? Pour répondre à cette question, l’auteur et une équipe de collègues artistes ont effectué une reprise d’un radio-théâtre phare de cette époque, appuyant l’auralité du radio-théâtre par des mouvements et des gestes scéniques. Il en résulte la création d’un nouveau texte qui fait la satire de cette vénération nostalgique de ce soi-disant âge d’or de la radio.
