Abstract
Dans la deuxième moitié du XIXe siècle, le dédoublement du Salon, entre l’exposition parisienne annuelle et son compte rendu dans la presse, assure la médiatisation de l’art contemporain – au sens de publicisation comme de représentation. Le « Salon » est donc un genre médiatique en ce qu’il assure la diffusion dans l’espace public des œuvres d’art et de la renommée des artistes, via les descriptions et les appréciations émises par le critique. Il s’agit d’examiner, à travers l’exemple des « Salons » que Joris-Karl Huysmans publie dans les périodiques des années 1870 et 1880, comment les logiques sérielles mises en œuvre permettent au salonnier d’exploiter toutes les potentialités fournies par un genre médiatique et de mettre celles-ci au service d’un ethos particulier.
