Abstract
There is a tragicomic character in Valle-Inclan’s works –the child who died violently- that has not been researched yet. The device within the grotesque style to use and manipulate this character in the hands of the author enables a wide range of possibilities, from the deepest feeling of tragedy to the buffoonesque laughter of the popular tradition.
