Abstract
Faits saillants L'incidence de la taille initiale de la ville sur la croissance se manifeste de façon indirecte par l'intermédiaire d'autres variables. La décroissance / croissance est principalement associée, respectivement, au degré de spécialisation dans les industries de première transformation et au taux d'emploi, un indicateur de la vigueur du marché du travail. Le rôle (positif) du capital humain dans la croissance joue surtout pour les grandes agglomérations urbaines.
