Au 2 e cycle du primaire, près du tiers des élèves ont un retard d’apprentissage de la lecture et 80 % d’entre eux sont inclus au régulier. Les enseignants du régulier différencieraient peu leurs enseignements. Notre analyse des guides du maitre des manuels scolaires de 3 e année pointe deux manuels scolaires, se démarquant par leur application du cadre conceptuel de la différenciation pédagogique. L’objet de cet article est de présenter une étude évaluant la mise à l’essai du matériel Signet adapté , afin d’enrichir le cadre conceptuel de la différenciation pédagogique, en rendant compte de ses effets (apprentissage de la lecture, motivation et différenciation pédagogique), lorsqu’il est appliqué à l’utilisation d’un outil pédagogique. Il s’agit d’une recherche exploratoire s’étant déroulée sur 6 mois auprès de 4 enseignants et 32 élèves.
