Abstract
Traduit recemment en francais, le roman De pertes en fils de Howard Roiter, une traduction par Pier-Pascale Boulanger de Here comes Hymie publie en 1990, decrit le parcours parfois tordu d’immigrants de la premiere moitie du vingtieme siecle a Montreal. Entre le pere et le fils, tous deux originaires de Hongrie, et les gens gravitant autour d’eux, l’aventure Oamericainer sera differente pour chacun, mais le resultat est souvent le meme : le recit d’une perte. D’un humour parfois tres noir, ce roman en traduction permet de reflechir a la perte qui n’est jamais entiere tant que son recit peut etre raconte.
