Abstract
Cet article est centré sur les différents registres communicationnels liés aux âges de la vie dans les stratégies publicitaires. À partir d’un corpus de publicités télévisées, une analyse quantitative a permis de décrypter les éléments marketing et le positionnement communicationnel des publicités, ce qui a été complété par une étude qualitative visant à élaborer une grille d’analyse des divers positionnements générationnels à l’œuvre. Cinq registres communicationnels centraux appelant les âges et les générations ont été dégagés. Dans cet article, nous concentrerons nos propos sur trois de ces registres, qui exploitent chacun à leur manière les références au passé et, plus spécifiquement, au patrimoine culturel ou publicitaire, en jouant la carte nostalgique. Ces trois registres sollicitent l’histoire personnelle, générationnelle et collective des individus, un voyage au fil de l’âge et des générations.
