Abstract
Si tous les films de Hugo Santiago, depuis Invasion et Les autres jusqu’au Loup de la côte Ouest, relèvent d’une interrogation indissolublement cinématographique et philosophique, Le ciel du Centaure, son dernier film, est une fiction aux accents politico-mafieux qui brouille la frontière entre théorie et fiction. Une histoire de faussaires conduit Santiago à filmer la création dans ce qu’elle a de plus énigmatique, son inscription dans une tradition et une histoire dont elle hérite, mais qu’elle excède, à filmer la métamorphose d’une oeuvre et celle d’un homme dans leur opposition au réel et au vieux fleuve héraclitéen. Cette approche cinématographique de la transmission, de la dette et de la trace, est une véritable jubilation, au plus près de l’imaginaire du cinéma.
