Abstract
Cet article propose une voie possible pour saisir la marginalité en dehors d’une logique de catégorisation des populations. Après avoir discuté des liens entre la marginalité et la normativité contemporaine, l’auteure met de l’avant son concept ancré de « vie moindre », tiré des résultats d’une ethnographie multisituée dans un refuge pour personnes sans-abri et dans une maison d’hébergement et de soins en fin de vie pour personnes séropositives. Ce concept vise à tracer l’esquisse sociologique de la marginalité en tant que régime de contraintes qui réduit au moindre les possibilités d’agir de soi-même.
