Les études réalisées sur la croissance pro-pauvre au Cameroun sur la période 1996 -2007 ont révélé que si l’on considère l’approche monétaire, la croissance au Cameroun est une croissance anti-pauvre de 1996 à 2001, et faiblement pro-pauvres dans la période 2001-2007. Par contre si l’analyse est effectuée selon l’approche non monétaire, elle a été anti-pauvre dans les deux périodes. Le rapport de la quatrième Enquête Camerounaise auprès des Ménages réalisée en 2014 conclut que la croissance au Cameroun a été non inclusive et donc anti-pauvres entre 2007 et 2014. Pourquoi la croissance au Cameroun ne parvient-elle pas à avoir une incidence positive significative sur la pauvreté ? Le présent article se propose dans une analyse prospective et stratégique de démontrer que les difficultés du Cameroun à concilier croissance et réduction de la pauvreté est le fait de stratégies d’une croissance pro-pauvres faiblement opérationnelles.
