Abstract
La bibliothèque de livres rares et anciens du Séminaire de Québec, instituée en 1678, offre un patrimoine livresque d’une grande richesse. Constituée pour l’éducation des séminaristes, puis celle des écoliers fréquentant le cours classique, elle devient bibliothèque universitaire avec la fondation de l’Université Laval en 1852. Si les ouvrages et leurs différentes éditions encore présents sur ses rayonnages témoignent de l’état et de l’évolution des connaissances transmises académiquement et des efforts déployés par l’institution pour demeurer au diapason des savoirs européens, la typologie des traces inscrites dans la matérialité du livre est révélatrice des provenances et des réseaux de sociabilités, ainsi que du parcours du livre avec ses réceptions, ses inclusions et ses ruptures.
