Abstract
Cromer Campus delivered a pirate extravaganza for our third archaeological dig in 2014. Based on the pirate haven of Port Royal which was partially destroyed in an earthquake in 1692, our new pit featured, Jack Sparrow duelling with an unknown peg leg enemy, mermaids escaping with treasure, pieces of eight and much more. Our 4 x 4 metre pit contained 4 bodies, made of white clay, strategically placed so each year 7 class digging one quarter of the pit, discovered a body and artefacts.
