Abstract
La responsable du dossier santé-sécurité à la Confédération des syndicats nationaux raconte l’évolution des débats qui ont eu lieu à l’intérieur du mouvement syndical sur la question de la participation syndicale aux conseils d’administration des hôpitaux et explique comment les syndicats en sont arrivés à la décision de ne plus y participer. Elle soulève ensuite les difficultés que rencontre le mouvement syndical à développer des luttes pour la transformation des pratiques médicales en soulignant que c’est d’abord par le biais des luttes pour la santé et la sécurité au travail (autant dans les usines que dans l’hôpital même) que l’on peut commencer à démystifier la neutralité du pouvoir médical. Malgré les tendances au cynisme et au corporatisme que le milieu hospitalier encourage chez les travailleurs, et en tenant compte du fait que la première priorité du syndicat doit être d’abord et avant tout de protéger les intérêts immédiats de ses membres, on constate néanmoins des indices d’une volonté croissante chez les travailleurs de la santé de démystifier le pouvoir médical.
