Abstract
Le frioulan est une langue rgionale appartenant au groupe linguistique rhto-roman, diffuse dans la rgion historique du Frioul. Sa diffusion, le nombre de ses locuteurs, son histoire, le prestige de sa littrature et le statut de rgion autonome du Frioul-Vntie julienne font que cette langue est encore pratique par de larges pans de la population. Cependant, des tudes sociolinguistiques entames ds 1977 estiment 1 % la perte annuelle en nombre de locuteurs. Pour contribuer photographier la donne actuelle et ventuellement formuler des propositions pour contrecarrer cette drive, nous illustrons dans cet article les rsultats d'une rcente enqute de terrain concernant les reprsentations sociales de la langue et de l'identit frioulanes auprs d'une population d'tudiants de 14 18 ans. Cette enqute a suivi la mthodologie de l'analyse combine.
