Cet article décrit les objectifs, le mode de financement, l’organisation, le déroulement et les résultats d’un projet de coopération scientifique entre l’Université Laval de Québec et la communauté amérindienne de Wendake. Ce projet visait à revitaliser le huron-wendat, langue ancestrale de cette communauté, qui avait cessé d’être utilisé il y a plus d’un siècle pour être remplacé par le français. L’article met en lumière la synergie qui s’est développée entre activistes langagiers autochtones, universitaires et membres de la communauté, et qui a permis au huron-wendat d’être maintenant enseigné comme langue seconde aux adultes et aux écoliers de Wendake.
