Abstract
Este artigo, de cunho teórico, circunscrito ao campo da ilosoia da educação, trata da questão da educação democrática e pública de qualidade em Anísio Teixeira e seus impactos para a gestão educacional. O problema diz respeito à pergunta: qual a relação entre a gestão da educação e a sociedade democrática a partir do pensamento pedagógico de Anísio Teixeira? Com o objetivo de revisitar o pensamento de Anísio Teixeira e mostrar sua potência para discussões em torno de políticas públicas em geral, e da gestão educacional de forma particular, argumenta-se sobre a concepção de democracia que não se restringe à forma de governo, mas, justamente, diz respeito a uma nova organização social, em que se buscam oferecer a todos os indivíduos iguais oportunidades e iguais responsabilidades para a expansão livre de seus valores. Discute-se acerca da necessidade de constante avaliação sobre as potencialidades disponíveis na comunidade dos usuários da escola pública para sua participação na gestão democrática, medindo os obstáculos a im de que eles não acabem por sufocar as potencialidades da comunidade. Os resultados consistem em admitir que a luta pela democratização do acesso à boa educação e permanência na escola com sucesso necessita de um ensino que se oriente no sentido de conduzir o estudante a ser sujeito de seu aprendizado, fazendo dele um cidadão habilitado na compreensão e condução de sua vida.
