Abstract
Le débat sur la thématique de l’égalité et/ou de la justice sociale constitue l’une des clés permettant d’appréhender certaines des remises en cause et des enjeux centraux des reformulations du consensus autour de l’État-providence. L’article analyse l’argumentation du ciblage anti-égalitaire des critiques néolibérales, les conditions de production et les enjeux de l’évolution des concepts et des pratiques égalitaires tributaires tout autant de la capacité d’action de l’État, que de l’intervention insistante des mouvements sociaux, ou encore du lent et sourd travail de la société sur elle-même.
