This Special Issue of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits is dedicated to the best papers taken from the analog, data converter, RF, wireless, and wireline communications sessions at the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), San Francisco, CA, USA, in 2016. Selecting a subset of papers from these high-quality sessions proved to be a difficult task. However, we believe that the papers included in this issue highlight interesting innovations seen at the conference.
