Cette recherche-développement réalisée dans le cadre d’une maîtrise en éducation avait pour but de voir si une approche utilisant l’environnement local pour réaliser l’apprentissage des concepts de géographie, permettait à des élèves du secondaire en classe d’adaptation scolaire, de développer les compétences du programme. La pédagogie autochtone, la pédagogie du lieu « place-based », de même que l’écoformation ont constitué les fondements théoriques qui ont étayé la proposition d’élaboration de situations d’apprentissage conçues et expérimentées selon deux modèles, dont l’un pour lequel on a utilisé le milieu de vie des élèves en alternance avec le virtuel. Les conclusions de la recherche sont présentées au regard de la construction d’une conscience citoyenne et du rôle du virtuel dans la proposition.
