Abstract
Europa se enfrenta hoy a la mayor crisis de refugiados tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Las sucesivas guerras en Afganistan, Irak, Libia, Sudan del Sur y Siria, la crisis social y politica que atraviesa el norte de Africa, el avance del islamismo radical y la descomposicion de los estados del Sahel, estan provocando grandes movimientos de poblacion hacia una Europa que, una vez mas, ve puesta a prueba su capacidad de respuesta politica, la identidad de su proyecto de union, las responsabilidades derivadas de su politica exterior y la solidez de su arquitectura juridica para la defensa y expansion de los derechos humanos. Los distintos textos que se presentan en este volumen buscan poner al alcance de un publico amplio algunas de las reflexiones surgidas desde el ambito academico sobre la llamada crisis de refugiados. Aunque centrada principalmente en Europa, tambien se incluyen analisis sobre otros paises como Mexico y Canada. El proposito de esta obra es proponer algunos ejes de discusion que contribuyan al debate social y politico, con una mirada amplia que no solo vuelque su atencion en las estadisticas, las cuotas y los dramas humanitarios que el Mediterraneo (convertido ya en mar de sangre) y las fronteras (convertidas muchas de ellas en fronteras de muerte) nos dejan, sino, sobre todo, en las respuestas politicas y juridicas
