Abstract
Mallarmé envisage parfois la lecture de la poésie à voix haute, mais il valorise plutôt la lecture à voix mentale, de même que son idéal du théâtre va dans le sens d’un théâtre mental. Le poème en prose Le Démon de l’analogie montre exemplairement la perception d’une voix mentale, et nous indique comment la voix intérieure du lecteur peut percevoir les phénomènes rythmiques comme les enjambements dans la poésie de Mallarmé lui-même.
