Abstract
La revue photographique URSS en construction est produite de 1929 à 1949 à des fins de propagande dans le but de montrer aux pays occidentaux la puissance industrielle et idéologique de l’URSS. Certains artistes éminents tels que El Lissitzky et Alexandre Rodchenko y contribuent et véhiculent à travers leurs photomontages, une image utopique de la société stalinienne des années 1930. Entre censure et propagande, comment comprendre leurs œuvres aujourd’hui et comment situer la place de l’artiste dans un régime totalitaire ? La revue URSS en construction met en lumière les complexités idéologiques au cœur de l’art soviétique et pose la question du dilemme entre intégrité artistique et survie.
