i + 232 p., US$17.00Historical research on the connection between Thomas Malthus and Charles Darwin has been on-g~ing now for quite some time, but emphasis on this arena of debate has resulted in a narrow focus on this one aspect of Malthus's work and life.Malthus, Medicine and Morality: "Malthusianism" after 1798 is an attempt to move beyond what is well-known about Malthus and his impact, to what is less well-known but not less significant.The essays contained in this work are the product of a Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine symposium held in March 1998 in which all but one of the authors presented papers that critically examine some aspect of Malthus in relation to medicine andlor morality.They are only minimally connected to one another in this way providing a somewhat ad hoc conglomeration of papers stretching over a 300-year period, https://utpjournals.press/
