Abstract
Âgé de vingt-quatre ans, Sébastien raconte, dans Le loup (1972), des épisodes de sa vie amoureuse avec divers hommes. Dans son récit fortement imprégné du christianisme, il présente l’homosexualité comme une forme d’amour qui répond de façon rigoureuse au précepte chrétien de l’amour du prochain. En empruntant à Michel Foucault sa notion de double régime de vérité relatif au christianisme, cette étude s’intéresse d’abord aux actes d’aveu auxquels Sébastien, assumant une fonction de pastorat, soumet certains de ses amants afin de produire une vérité à propos de leur vie sexuelle. Bien que le second régime de vérité, qui consiste en des actes de foi, soit à proprement parler absent du roman, la christologie biblique inspire Sébastien dans la mission qu’il se donne de sauver, en dépit d’eux-mêmes, les âmes des hommes qu’il aime.
