Abstract
Amour je ne puis t'aimer hors du cercle de ton absence 1 Lorsque, en 1996, je me suis mise à travailler sur l'œuvre de Fernand Ouellette, il n'avait pas publié de poésie depuis Les heures 2 .Il était alors dans ce qu'on peut considérer comme sa période essayistique.En à peine plus d'une décennie, il faisait paraître neuf essais -certains portant sur l'art et la littérature 3 , d'autres sur des questions spirituelles et théologiques 4 -pour un seul livre de poésie 5 .Au cours des dix dernières années, et surtout depuis la parution de L'inoubliable 6 , les choses ont pris un autre tour, et on ne peut que s'en réjouir.Cette somme poétique, presque immédiatement suivie par une autre (L'abrupt 7 ), force l'admiration, et le poète depuis n'a cessé de produire.Au moment où j'ai découvert son œuvre, Ouellette m'interpellait par l'esprit.Partageant son amour des idées, j'ai plongé dans ses livres en acceptant, comme il 1
