Abstract
O objetivo principal do trabalho é contribuir aos estudos de economia e política nas ciências sociais, com foco de análise na transição democrática brasileira e no debate sobre a relação entre redemocratização política e crise econômica. O artigo se concentra na análise dos governos FHC, Lula e Dilma, buscando analisar aspectos políticos e econômicos dos três diferentes governos, como a política econômica, a questão da inflação, o papel do Estado na economia, estabilidade econômica e a crise final do governo Dilma, ocorrida em abril de 2016. O trabalho sugere que a crise final do governo Dilma e o impeachment representam um ponto de inflexão no processo de transição democrática e a uma crise nas promessas da Constituição de 1988. O trabalho foi elaborado especialmente para o seminário Transição Democrática: aspectos sociológicos e políticos, que ocorreu na UFPel em novembro de 2015.Palavras-Chave: Crise econômica e democracia; Economia e política da transição democrática; Governos FHC, Lula e Dilma.
