Abstract
L’auteur interroge la notion de « transformation spirituelle » telle qu’elle est mobilisée aujourd’hui en milieu inuit par des groupes évangéliques comme le Canada Awakening Ministries (CAM). Bien implanté chez les Inuit du Nunavik et du Nunavut, ce dernier a noué d’étroites relations avec des pasteurs en provenance des îles Fidji. Ses adeptes organisent de nombreux exorcismes et des rituels de guérison de la terre. L’auteur émet l’hypothèse selon laquelle les Inuit en reconnaissent l’idiome tout en disposant de traditions certes fort différentes mais confrontées de nos jours à de multiples défis : d’un côté, l’aiguillon écologique et de l’autre, l’exploitation des ressources nordiques et le discours du réchauffement climatique.
